From July 18 to 22, Zheng Jingjie, President of Zhejiang Electrical Industry Association and Chairman of PEOPLE, led a business delegation of the Association on an economic and trade exchange tour across Southeast Asia. As a core member of the Association, PEOPLE participated throughout the whole itinerary, proactively implementing the "Going Global" strategy and blazing new trails for the Group’s international layout.
On July 18, the delegation arrived first in Bắc Ninh Province, Vietnam, and visited benchmark Chinese-funded smart manufacturing enterprises locally. The participants held extensive discussions on key topics including practical overseas factory operation, localized supply chain supporting systems, foreign investment policies and preferential tax incentives.
Subsequently, Zheng Jingjie headed the team to pay a special visit to Vietnam-Ban Mo College, a China-ASEAN Technology Transfer Base, to learn about its specialist training model dubbed the "1+1+1 Craftsmanship Program". The framework integrates basic school education, vocational skill training at the engineering institute and hands-on practice on production sites. This system deeply combines the craftsmanship spirit embedded in Chinese vocational education with Vietnam’s local human resources.Zheng Jingjie emphasized that electrical enterprises cannot pursue overseas expansion on an individual basis. The Association serves as a platform to help its members grasp market trends and venture overseas collectively. Acting as a navigator, the Association will guide all member enterprises to deploy businesses in Southeast Asia in a scientific and compliant manner, enabling the regional brand "Zhejiang Electrical Industry" to take root and thrive overseas.
From July 20 to 21, the delegation traveled to Bangkok, Thailand. Prior to the thematic forum, the team inspected Bangkok Industrial Park, focusing on land planning, relevant laws and regulations, as well as preferential foreign investment policies rolled out by Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), laying a solid foundation for targeted business cooperation in the future.
On the afternoon of July 21, the China-Thailand Economic and Trade Exchange Forum was held at IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center in Bangkok. Co-hosted by Zhejiang Electrical Industry Association, Liushi Chamber of Commerce (Yueqing) and Wenzhou Chamber of Commerce in Thailand. The event brought together officials from Thailand’s Ministry of Energy, senior executives of banking and exhibition institutions, presidents of bilateral chambers of commerce, as well as representatives from more than 20 Chinese and Thai chambers of commerce and nearly 50 overseas Chinese business delegates. Led by Zheng Jingjie, the delegation attended the forum, which was presided over by Zheng Zhichao, person in charge of the Secretariat of Zhejiang Electrical Industry Association.
During the forum, both sides explored cooperative opportunities covering smart power distribution, explosion-proof electrical equipment and new energy supporting facilities. Fruitful exchanges were carried out on the mutual recognition of technical standards and cross-border supply chain collaboration, further consolidating mutual trust and friendship between the industrial and commercial communities of the two regions.
On the morning of July 22, Zheng Jingjie and his entourage were invited to attend the opening ceremony of IME 2026 and took part in the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Tailored to the core demands of Southeast Asian manufacturing sectors for digital transformation and industrial upgrading, the exhibition focuses on cutting-edge fields such as industrial automation, AI & robotics, high-end CNC machine tools and equipment, laser processing, smart logistics and digital factories. Nearly 150 high-quality enterprises from home and abroad gathered here to showcase innovative achievements in smart manufacturing, injecting robust momentum into the industrial transformation and upgrading across Southeast Asia.
Taking this Southeast Asian visit as a pivotal opportunity, PEOPLE will further advance its international strategic layout, actively integrate into the new landscape of global industrial chains, and contribute to the global development of China’s electrical industry.
