1. Introduction
MCB is a compact, easy-to-install low-voltage protection device. Featuring a simple structure, it’s primarily used to protect low-capacity circuits and serves as the most basic and commonly used protection device in power systems.
2. Core Functions
Overload and Short-Circuit Protection
3. Applications
Residential Buildings: Dedicated circuits for sockets, air conditioners, and bathrooms.
Small Shops & Offices: Power supply circuits for lighting, sockets, and small equipment.
Industrial Settings: Control circuits and auxiliary power supply circuits for small motors.
4. Selection Guidelines
①Rated Current: Match the maximum operating current of the circuit. For example, select 16A for general socket circuits and 10A for lighting circuits.
②Trip Curve:
Type C (Most Common): Trips at 5-10 times the rated current, suitable for residential lighting and socket circuits.
Type D: Trips at 10-20 times the rated current, suitable for equipment with high starting currents such as motors and air conditioners.
③Pole Count:
1P: Only disconnects the live wire, used for single-phase lighting circuits.
2P: Disconnects both live and neutral wires, used for residential main switches or high-power equipment circuits.
3P/4P: Used for three-phase circuits (e.g., industrial motors, central air conditioners).
